Fuelrot denied bail in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court
September 29, 2025
The Namcor fraud and corruption case is one of the biggest scandals to hit Namibia’s state-owned oil company. Six accused — including former Namcor managing director Imms Mulunga, former employees, and businessmen were denied bail in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court. The magistrate ruled that their evidence was full of contradictions, describing some testimony as “blatant lies,” and said granting bail would not be in the public interest.
The case centers on a N$53.2 million payment by Namcor Trading for filling station assets at Defence Force bases assets the company never received. Instead, large sums of money moved through private companies linked to some of the accused.
