City of Windhoek defends mass disconnections as municipal debt reaches N$900 million

The City of Windhoek says the outstanding municipal debt has reached approximately N$900 million, prompting renewed efforts to recover unpaid accounts through disconnections. Chief executive Moses Matyayi is urging residents who cannot pay in full to approach the municipality and negotiate repayment arrangements to avoid service disruptions.
