We have lost a committed, hard-working employee – Nored

Written by on April 26, 2024

The Northern Regional Electricity Distributor (Nored) hosted a memorial service for employee Ananias Iyambo (36) at Ongwediva on Thursday.

Iyambo died at Okongo in the Ohangwena region after being electrocuted on duty on Saturday.

He was attending to a power failure at the village.

Shinana Shinana, the head of Nored Ongwediva’s technical department, said Iiyambo was more than just an employee and a valued member of the technical department.

“He dedicated himself to both the department and the company. His journey began at Ongwediva, where he consistently showcased his skills and expertise as an electrician.

“His commitment to and passion for his craft were evident throughout his time there,” he said.

Shinana said Iyambo joined Nored Ongwediva on 1 October 2013.

Iyambo relocated to Nored’s Okongo branch on 1 August 2022.

“He was a man who made friends with everyone. Like everyone else, he has encountered technical challenges along the way, however, his thirst for knowledge was unmatched.

“He never hesitated to ask and constantly improved his skills and understanding.

“He never failed to attend to power failure cases on time. He was the life of a party.

“His passing leaves a void in our department and we will miss his technical expertise and his friendly manners,” Shinana said.

Jacob Petrus, in his message of condolences on behalf of Nored’s Okongo branch, described Iyambo as a committed employee who dedicated 11 years to Nored.

“If he was not happy with a situation, he rather walked away –person who strived for perfection and order.

“He treated all people equally. He was a very respectful young man,” he said.

In another message of condolence on behalf of the management team and Nored staff, read by Merjiam Kondjeni, Iyambo was described as a blessing to the Nored team, and someone who never complained
