Written by on April 11, 2024

Illegal substances were allegedly found at two houses at Grootfontein, including skunk cannabis and marijuana seeds with an estimated value of more than N$300 000.

This was allegedly confiscated from two houses at farm Kransneus, 10 km north of Groot Aub.

The discovery was made in a recent operation led by the Rehoboth Drug Law-Enforcement Unit.

Namibian police chief inspector Katrina Naukushu on Wednesday said four suspects have been arrested for drug possession.

The team said buckets filled with drugs were buried underground in two houses’ yards.

Naukushu is calling on members of the public to report any cases of drug dealing they may be aware of, promising a reward for accurate information.

A woman (19) was allegedly found in possession of 20 mandrax tablets at her boyfriend’s house at Groot Aub on the same day.

The value of the drugs is yet to be determined, police chief inspector Katrina Naukushu, who confirmed the arrest, says.

A bus from Oshikango carrying illegal items, including boxes of whiskey and ‘Yes’ cigarettes, was intercepted at the Okahandja-Windhoek road traffic checkpoint on Wednesday.

The police offloaded the confiscated items at Wanaheda Police Station in
Windhoek.
