Windhoek launches N$12 million smart streetlight monitoring project

The City of Windhoek has launched a N$12 million project to digitally map and monitor more than 17 000 streetlights across the capital.

The 28-month initiative introduces GPS tracking and a real-time dashboard to improve maintenance and reduce outages.

City engineer Diana Nambahu says the project will shift the city from reactive repairs to preventative maintenance.
