President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has officially relieved newly appointed Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform, Mac-Albert Hengari, of his duties following his arrest on Saturday.
Police Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi confirmed on Saturday that Hengari was arrested after allegedly attempting to bribe a young woman he is accused of raping.
This comes amid mounting calls for his resignation from political analysts over the past few weeks.
