Following significant public discussion and uproar on social media, Desert FM sits down with Julinda Makili, customs and excise projects and modernisation coordinator at the Namibia Revenue Agency, to unpack the newly implemented Customs Administrative Penalty Framework, effective 14 October.

Makili says while an initial version was introduced in 2022, this updated framework provides clearer standard operating procedures and a publicly available contravention list to ensure transparency, consistency and fairness across all Namibian ports of entry.
