Cold conditions to grip parts of Namibia until weekend

Namibians, particularly those in the central, southern and south-eastern parts of the country, are being urged to prepare for chilly mornings over the next few days as a cold air mass moves across the country.
Independent meteorologist Vilho Ndeunyema says the cold conditions are expected to persist until at least Saturday, with the coldest temperatures forecast for the eastern parts of the Hardap and ||Kharas regions, including Aranos, where temperatures could drop as low as two degrees Celsius.
Despite the cold mornings, daytime temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 20s across much of the country, while the coast will experience foggy conditions before turning unusually hot over the weekend, with temperatures forecast to reach between 30 and 36 degrees Celsius.
Ndeunyema says the cold spell is typical for this time of year and is not expected to pose a significant risk to livestock, but residents should continue taking the usual winter precautions.
