Baboon City resort residents survive on dumps as water crisis deepens near Unam

Residents of Baboon City resort, an informal settlement just a few kilometres from the University of Namibia’s main campus, say they have been living without reliable water and basic services for nearly a decade.

Community member Mukambo Benonia, also known as ‘Mama Cool’, says the situation has worsened since 2018, when residents lost access to water previously supplied by a nearby construction site.
