FlyNamibia moves Katima flights to Hosea Kutako International Airport

Written by on June 11, 2024

FlyNamibia has announced changes to its flight operations aimed at improving connectivity and stimulating tourism in the Zambezi Region.

In a media statement issued on Monday, the company announced that from 3 July, FlyNamibia’s Katima Mulilo flights will move from Eros Airport to Hosea Kutako International Airport.

This will provide easier access to key destinations, the statement said.

The airline is also introducing a new flight routing system to connect Windhoek, Maun and Katima Mulilo.

From 3 July to 31 October this year, selected flights will operate on the route Windhoek-Maun-Katima Mulilo-Windhoek.

Direct flights to Katima Mulilo will resume on specific dates starting in November 2024.

This initiative is designed to increase passenger traffic to Katima Mulilo and promote tourism growth in the Zambezi Region, the airline said.

By connecting inbound long-haul flights with direct connections to Katima Mulilo, FlyNamibia aims to unlock the region’s tourism potential and drive economic development.

“We are excited to introduce these strategic changes to our flight operations,” said Andre Compion, managing director of FlyNamibia.

“By transitioning our flights to Hosea Kutako International Airport and introducing enhanced connectivity between Windhoek, Maun and Katima, we are not only improving access for travellers but also catalysing tourism growth in the Zambezi region,” he said.

Passengers are encouraged to visit the FlyNamibia website for booking inquiries and further information.
