Youth urged to prepare for opportunities in Namibia’s oil and gas sector

Young Namibians are being encouraged to equip themselves with the skills and knowledge needed to benefit from the country’s emerging oil and gas industry.

Speaking at the Youth in Oil and Gas Summit at Walvis Bay, political science student and youth advocate Twapwa Hangula said the sector offers opportunities far beyond engineering, including careers in law, public policy, management and administration. Hangula welcomed president Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s emphasis on local content, saying Namibia’s energy resources should create jobs, business opportunities and skills development for Namibians.
