The University of Namibia’s (Unam’s) Ogongo campus expects to harvest 23 tonnes of rice this year, marking an increase from last year’s 21 tonnes through improved farming practices and research.
Unam says the annual rice harvesting festival showcases innovation, supports food security and promotes value addition to strengthen farmers’ livelihoods while reducing Namibia’s dependence on imported food.
