Namibia–South Africa border dispute moves to presidential level

The long-running boundary dispute between Namibia and South Africa over the Orange River remains unresolved, despite renewed cooperation between the two countries.

At the recent Bi-National Commission in Pretoria, seven agreements were signed covering trade, aviation and broader cooperation. However, no breakthrough was reached on the exact location of the border along the Orange River.

Public policy analyst Marius Kudumo says the issue is less about law and more about national interests.
