Private investment stalls as hostel project at Cocoma Primary awaits Govt facilities

A N$23-million government plan to upgrade Cocoma Primary School into a centre of excellence is facing delays, despite significant private sector investment already made.
Beki-Kumata Fishing Company has invested nearly N$2 million into the school’s development, including the construction of two hostel blocks. However, the facilities remain unoccupied due to incomplete ablution infrastructure, which falls under the government’s responsibility.
Beki-Kumata chief executive Manfred Likoro says the company stepped in after identifying serious challenges affecting pupils’ living conditions.
