Flooding in Katima Mulilo displaces families after heavy rains

Katima Mulilo constituency councillor Kennedy Simasiku says persistent heavy rains since November have flooded informal settlements, destroying mud houses and forcing some residents into temporary shelters at the Ngweze Community Hall. He says authorities are considering long-term measures, including drainage channels and water pumps, to reduce recurring flooding in the town.
