Sankwasa warns councils over mounting municipal debt

Urban and rural development minister James Sankwasa has warned government institutions and councillors to settle outstanding municipal debt or face disconnections and other sanctions. This as pressure mounts over Namibia’s growing debt crisis.

Speaking to Desert FM, former Walvis Bay municipal councillor Ryan Gordon backs the move, stressing the need for accountability and stronger leadership.
