New subsidy model welcomed, student bodies want more

The government has launched its long-promised free tertiary education model, offering full tuition and registration subsidies for first-time undergraduates and technical and vocational education and training trainees. However, student bodies have warned that the plan leaves major gaps, from non-tuition costs to institutional capacity.
