Africa is mourning the loss of one of its most influential political figures, Raila Odinga, who died earlier this week at the age of 80 while receiving treatment in India. For over four decades, Odinga played a defining role in shaping Kenya’s political landscape – from being a prisoner under the Moi regime to championing multiparty democracy. A reformist, freedom fighter and five-time presidential contender, Odinga was admired for his resilience and unwavering belief in a united and democratic Africa.
