A wave of Western powers, including France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Portugal, Belgium, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, and Andorra have formally recognised Palestine as a sovereign state. This marks a turning point as 157 of the 193 United Nations member states now recognise a Palestinian State.
