Sebastian Ndeitunga on N$1m Speed Point Scam Ring
September 19, 2025
A confiscated speed point device, worth over N$1 million, has been linked to a major scam ring in Namibia. Reports suggest that corrupt networks—possibly even operating from within police holding cells—are using such devices to drain victims’ bank accounts, with some people losing entire salaries in a single day.
This case highlights not only the sophistication of financial fraud but also the gaps in law enforcement and the risks ordinary Namibians face. To help us unpack this story, its policing implications, and what Namibia must do to close these security loopholes, we are joined by former Inspector General of the Namibian Police, now policing expert, Lieutenant General Sebastian Ndeitunga.
