JEMIMA BEUKES ON ACCUSATIONS AGAINST MEDIA

Lawyer Sisa Namandje, who represents Peter Elindi-one of the accused in the high-profile Namcor-Enercon corruption case-has come out strongly, accusing the media having been roped in to report  in a way that appears to bolster the state’s case.

Namandje argues that his client has been wrongfully implicated in a matter he describes as fundamentally commercial, arising from a contractual relationship between Enercon and Namcor, not a criminal offence.

He also raised concern over what he calls an unethical leak of the charges to the media, saying it violates professional standards within the justice system.
