South African President Cyril Ramaphosa  placed Police Minister Senzo Mchunuon an immediate leave of absence following serious allegations linking him to organised crime.

In a live televised address to the nation on Sunday,  Ramaphosa also announced the establishment of a judicial commission of inquiry to probe the claims allegations he said undermine the Constitution and pose a threat to national security.
