With less than a month to go before by-elections in several constituencies across the country—including Grootfontein, Otjiwarongo, Kamanjab, and Sesfontein—political pressure is mounting, and all eyes are on Namibia’s biggest party: Swapo.

But just how ready is Swapo? Internally, the party is facing a wave of petitions from its own branches in Otjozondjupa, demanding that recent section elections be nullified over alleged irregularities, including imported voters and procedural breaches.
