Okahandja is currently reeling from a series of brutal murders involving young girls. Five-year-old Ingrid Maasdorp and six-year-old Roslind Fabian, both school learners, were kidnapped and later found murdered.
The most recent case involves 15-year-old Beyonce Kharuxas, who disappeared from a bar before her body was discovered.
These tragic incidents have triggered a wide-reaching manhunt for the suspected perpetrator or perpetrators, with the Otjozondjupa police — alongside community members — leading the effort.
We were joined by regional police commander Phillip Haidengua to discuss the ongoing investigations and the steps being taken to restore safety in the community.
