The National Organisation of Parents in Education (NAOPE) has launched a campaign to boost parental involvement in children’s education.
NAOPE’s founding board is holding consultative meetings to strengthen parent-led advocacy for equitable and quality education across Namibia. As part of this, Khomas Region parents met on June 8th, electing an Interim Regional Executive Committee to represent their interests.
But are parents truly central to learner education and development in Namibia? And what is NAOPE doing to foster this? NAOPE information officer, Wilbard Kanguiya, joined us.
