Union demands NCS chief’s resignation

The tragic road accident near Mariental that claimed the lives of correctional officers, police officers and civilians prompted the Public Service Union of Namibia (PSUN) to call for the resignation of Namibian Correctional Service commissioner general Raphael Hamunyela. The union is citing negligence, poor logistical management and a lack of protection for officers. Before the calls, Hamunyela took responsibility for the incident and asked for forgiveness.
