Stronger Namibia dollar sparks mixed economic outlook

The Namibia dollar has strengthened by about 2% in recent weeks, largely due to its one-to-one peg with the South African rand, improved regional investor confidence and favourable global market conditions, but the real impact on prices, exports and jobs remains uncertain.
Speaking to Desert FM, economist Omu Kakujaha-Matundu says the shift may reflect currency stability rather than a clear economic gain for ordinary Namibians.
