Namibia’s Members of Parliament are just three months into their new term—and already, according to reports, some of them are asking for more money. This as the country grapples with high youth unemployment, crumbling public infrastructure, and growing inequality.
While some MPs argue their salaries haven’t been reviewed in nearly a decade, others—including the opposition IPC—have publicly distanced themselves from the push, calling it tone-deaf and self-serving.
Joining us to break this all down is political analyst Rui Tyitende, who’s been sharply critical of what he calls a ‘politics of the belly’ mentality.
