Ras Mubarak calls for Visa-free Africa as unity campaign reaches Namibia
September 26, 2025
Former Ghanaian lawmaker Ras Mubarak has brought the Trans-African Tourism and Unity Campaign to Namibia, part of a 40,000 km journey across 39 countries calling for a visa-free Africa by 2030. The initiative is rooted in the Pan-African vision of leaders like Kwame Nkrumah and seeks to strengthen unity, expand tourism, and unlock economic opportunities across the continent.
Mubarak says visa barriers cost young Africans jobs, limit cultural exchange, and hold back trade that could boost industries from agriculture to manufacturing. The campaign has received strong commitments from governments along the way, with Angola pledging to lift restrictions within four years. Jane Kandetu spoke to Ras Mubarak on Desert FM.
