Police arrests raise concerns over integrity within force

A growing number of police officers have been arrested for alleged involvement in drug, corruption, theft and violent crimes, prompting concern about integrity within the Namibian Police Force, with inspector general Joseph Shikongo saying on Desert FM that internal disciplinary and criminal processes are underway.

Also speaking on Desert FM, Namibia Economic Freedom Fighters deputy leader Longinus Iipumbu says the developments raise serious questions about public trust, accountability and the need for systemic reform.
