Some 200 cattle contracted to suspected cannabis dealer and businessman David van der Linden‘s feedlot under a 2023 agreement still remain on his farm, in addition to 400 others that reportedly went missing. Despite Meatco filing a stock-theft case and police confirming Van der Linden is in custody over a N$52-million cannabis plantation, no formal police case has been opened. Meanwhile, Meatco faces mounting pressure from the Cabinet’s Secretary, Emilia Mkusa, and the public over transparency and accountability.
