Namibia on the alert over possible foot-and-mouth disease spillover

Namibia’s agriculture ministry says the country remains prepared to respond to any potential spillover of foot-and-mouth disease from neighbouring countries, particularly South Africa, where several provinces are experiencing outbreaks.

Speaking to Desert FM, agricultural expert Dobson Kwala says while the immediate risk is being monitored, an outbreak could have serious consequences for farmers, exports and the national economy.
