Namibia’s men’s team finished eighth at the Indoor Hockey World Cup in Poreč after losing 5-4 to Iran on Sunday morning. At the same time, Namibia’s women bowed out of the race for honours when they lost 5-1 to Austria in their quarterfinal match on Friday. Austria took the lead through a short corner goal by Katharina Proksch in the first quarter, but Namibia came back strongly and pinned Austria back for most of the second quarter.
