Linda Mupupa discusses flooding in Swakopmund’s Monica Geingos street

Residents of Monica Geingos Street in Swakopmund woke up on Wednesday to find their road flooded, with water seeping into homes situated at the lower end of the street.
The flooding, caused by a burst water pipe in the early morning hours, left several households counting losses as furniture and appliances were damaged in the deluge.
The Swakopmund municipality has since issued a statement explaining the cause of the pipe burst and outlining steps taken to address the issue.
Municipal spokesperson Linda Mupupa joins us to discuss the extent of the damage, what led to the incident, and what remedies have been put in place to prevent future occurrences.
