ICC Defiant Amid U.S. Sanctions Over War Crimes Probes

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has pledged to continue its judicial work despite U.S. President Donald Trump signing an order imposing sanctions on its staff.

In response, the ICC reaffirmed its commitment to its personnel, condemning the order as an attempt to undermine its “independent and impartial” mandate.

Trump’s order follows the ICC’s issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over alleged war crimes in Gaza—charges Israel denies—as well as for a Hamas commander.
