George Ampweya unpacks the squabble between Swakop Uranium and the union

The Mineworkers Union of Namibia (MUN) announced that the impasse between Swakop Uranium (Pty) Ltd and the union has been amicably resolved.
As part of the agreement, both parties have committed to submitting a joint request for an extension of the current operational conditions for an additional three months.
This interim arrangement will provide the Union with the necessary time to facilitate the upcoming elections of a new Branch Executive Committee (BEC).
To help us understand the background of the dispute, the negotiations that led to this resolution, and what lies ahead, we were joined by the secretary general of the Mineworkers Union of Namibia George Ampweya.
