The Omaheke regional police says they have noted with concern a recent trend of unverified reports being circulated, which often cause unnecessary panic, fear, and confusion among residents.
This statement has been issued in response to the recent public panic and speculation following the tragic incident involving the murder of two women in Okahandja.
Since the incident, a wave of unverified reports and stories has circulated among the public.
Now the police have cautioned community members to refrain from making or sharing unverified statements regarding incidents occurring within our community, particularly via platforms such as WhatsApp and other social media platforms.
