Edna Khoases discusses the ceremonial parade for 270 recruits graduating

The Namibian Correctional Service (NCS) yesterday held a ceremonial parade for 270 recruits graduating after nine months of basic training at the Lucius Sumbwanyambe Mahoto Correctional Service Training College in Omaruru.
Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare officiated the event and as we reflect on the significance of this occasion, we turn our focus to the kind of training these recruits have undergone, how they are expected to manage and rehabilitate inmates within correctional facilities, and whether the current staffing levels are adequate to meet the system’s demands.
