Edda Bohn unpacks Day of the African Child

Today, as we mark the Day of the African Child, we confront both the progress and the painful realities facing millions of children across the continent. In Namibia, the challenges of access to quality education, classroom overcrowding, school dropouts, early pregnancy, and socio-economic inequality remain stark. We spoke to Edda Bohn, deputy executive director for formal education at the Ministry of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts & Culture, to take stock of where the Namibian child stands in 2025 and what the ministry is doing to truly leave no child behind.
