Dirk Conradie discusses the implications of suspects arrested in connection with alleged corruption at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR)
July 11, 2025
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) confirmed that a ninth person had been arrested in connection with its ongoing investigation into alleged corruption at the National Petroleum Corporation of Namibia (NAMCOR).
ACC spokesperson Josephine Nghituwamata said that a total of nine individuals had now been taken into custody as part of the case. She added that the ninth suspect was expected to appear in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court on 11 July 2025 at 11:00.
But with the state having put together 68 charges so far, how complex will this matter be in court, will it take years to conclude and will some of the charges fall away?
To unpack this we were joined by legal expert and lawyer, Dirk Conradie.
