Dagobert Mukoya says culture should support not silence mental health conversations

Mental health remains a sensitive issue in many Namibian communities where traditional and spiritual beliefs still shape how people understand and respond to it. Stigma often prevents those affected from seeking help highlighting the need for greater awareness and openness.

Desert FM spoke to Mbunza traditional authority chief councillor Dagobert Mukoya who said traditional leaders must play a vital role in promoting understanding and compassion especially among the youth.
