Businessman accuses Bipa of unfairly targeting local businesses

The Business and Intellectual Property Authority (Bipa) says it’s moving ahead with the mass deregistration of non-compliant companies, stating that businesses have had more than a year to update their records and meet beneficial ownership requirements. However, businessman Johannes Goamab accuses the entity of unfairly targeting Namibian-owned firms, while foreign companies allegedly operate outside the rules without paying taxes or issuing receipts.
He speaks to Desert FM to share his concerns and to discuss what a fairer compliance system should look like.
