Bernard Kavau discusses prime minister’s annoucement to recruit unemployed young people into security cluster

This week, Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare announced that over 4,300 young Namibians are being recruited into the public sector, including the Namibian Defence Force, Namibian Police, and Correctional Services. The move has drawn both praise and criticism. One of the loudest voices pushing back is the Students Union of Namibia (SUN), which released a bold press statement rejecting what it calls the “militarisation of unemployment.”
