Namibia is set to mark a historic occasion — the very first Genocide Remembrance Day on May 28th, in honour of the Nama and Ovaherero communities who suffered brutal atrocities under German colonial rule. The commemorative event will take place at Parliament Gardens, in close proximity to Alte Feste, one of the many sites tied to that tragic chapter in our history.
