[PODCAST]

Chief of Batswana, Namibia, Andrew Kgosiemang weighed in on the ongoing debate around paternity fraud, saying that if a man raised a child only to later discover he is not the biological father, it is better for him to continue raising the child without knowing the truth.

His comments come in the wake of recent discussions in the Namibian National Assembly, where Swapo parliamentarian Pohamba Shifeta called for mandatory paternity testing for all children born to unmarried couples.

Shifeta made the proposal during the Ministry of Justice’s budget debate, arguing that compulsory DNA testing could help address issues of paternity fraud and emotional trauma.
