ALMANDRO JANSEN ON NAMIBIA’S INFLATION RATE
Desert FM July 15, 2025
Namibia’s annual inflation rate inched up to 3.7% year-on-year in June 2025, a slight rise from 3.5% in May, but still well below the 4.6% recorded in June last year.
That’s according to the latest inflation report released by Simonis Storm.
The uptick points to a fairly stable inflationary environment, with only modest price movements seen in key sectors such as housing, utilities, and food. Notably, the transport sector continued to ease pressure on consumers by recording deflation.
To dissect the numbers is economist Almandro Jansen, who authored the report.
