Almandro Jansen addresses how Namibia’s construction sector is poised for a strong rebound in 2025

[PODCAST]

Namibia’s construction sector is poised for a strong rebound in 2025, with growth projected at 8.5%, making it the fastest-growing industry of the year—despite contributing just 1.4% to GDP in 2024.

This promising outlook comes from the latest Simonis Storm report and is underpinned by a favourable mix of monetary easing, scaled-up public infrastructure spending, and renewed private sector confidence.

Total output for the sector is expected to climb to around N$4.3 billion, driven largely by momentum in residential developments, commercial real estate investments, and a wave of government-led capital projects.

The construction sector has seen lacklustre growth over the years ever since its collapse in 2015 which pulled the entire economy down.

To unpack this, we were joined by economist at Simonis Storm, Almandro Jansen.
