AI law to align with global standards

Information and communication technology minister Emma Theofulus recently explained that the new artificial intelligence (AI) framework currently in formation must align with international standards.
These include the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation’s ethics of AI, Southern African Development Community model laws, and the African Union’s Continental AI Strategy.

But as the country pushes toward becoming an AI-ready nation, what should this AI law actually look like?
