More than 136,000 Namibian households live off pensions

The 2023 Population and Housing Census revealed that a significant number of Namibian households rely primarily on old-age pensions as their main source of income. About 18% of households are led by elderly people and regions such as the Zambezi recorded reliance as high as 37.8%.
