Venus oil project negotiations remain unresolved

The Namibian’s in-house journalist Nishi Felton says key issues in negotiations between the Namibian government and TotalEnergies include the licence period, taxation, arbitration, stabilisation clauses and proposed changes to decision-making in the petroleum sector. Felton says the public should closely watch the eventual final investment decision and the terms of any agreement to assess how Namibia stands to benefit.
